Organization
The 76th Infantry Brigade
Combat Team is a Unit of Action, a primary maneuvering element for
commanders in the field during conflict. The U.S. Army has staffed
and equipped IBCTs to sustain themselves for up to a year in the
field, providing an array of support services that are organic to
the BCT: administrative, medical, maintenance, supply, intelligence
and more.
The 76th IBCT is unique in that the entire brigade is manned by
Soldiers of the Indiana National Guard. The Indiana National Guard
is the fourth largest in the United States, exceeding the percentage
of other states with far larger populations. The nation-leading
efforts of the Indiana National Guard recruiting and retention
program has provided a viable and relevant force prepared to meet
the impending challenges of the 21st Century.
Following is the organizational structure of the 76th Infantry
Brigade Combat Team, representing but only one fourth of the Indiana
National Guard. To learn more about the the Indiana National Guard,
